Donations from the public make it possible for Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter to save more than 97% of the animals received!
Earmark your gift for our General Fund, Starfish Medical Fund, or Sasha Training Fund. If you like, you may also donate in honor or in memory of a person or pet, and we will notify the honoree or the family to let them know you have made a gift to FAAS in their name. For lasting impact, consider making your gift recurring.
Starfish Medical Fund
This emergency medical fund pays for shelter pets' medical needs beyond basic care. Dental disease, broken bones, tumors, skin infections and other serious conditions can all be treated thanks to your donations. Your support for this Fund is a major reason why FAAS is able to save the majority of homeless animals that come through our doors.
Sasha Training Fund
FAAS uses this Fund to help our shelter dogs with behavior problems find homes. Because training has been shown to head off behavioral problems post adoption as well, FAAS also includes with every canine adoption a voucher for up to six weeks of reimbursable training at Petco, Bravo!Pup or other approved local academy. The Sasha Training Fund was established by the late Shelly Gable in memory of her beloved German shepherd, Sasha, and is still generously supported by the Gable family.
Recurring: FAAS Forever Friend
Recurring gifts, no matter how small, add up to a lot! Always be there for the homeless pets of Alameda by becoming a monthly or quarterly FAAS Forever Friend.
