Why use FAAS Private Adoptions?
- You decide who adopts your pet.
- Your pet stays in your home until a suitable adopter is found.
- Shelter space remains available to animals who have no home.
How is FAAS Involved?
FAAS displays available animals on its website and can answer questions about the service. Otherwise, FAAS is not involved. Owners and adopters communicate and meet with each other directly.
How To List A Pet
To use FAAS Private Adoptions to rehome your pet, you must live in the City of Alameda and submit a Private Adoptions Agreement & Application. If accepted, your pet will appear on the FAAS Private Adoptions Page for 3 months.
Potential adopters will contact you directly about your pet using the personal contact information you provide.
IMPORTANT: You may not request or accept a fee in exchange for your pet. Doing so will result in your listing being removed.
How To Adopt A Pet
If you are interested in a pet listed on the FAAS Private Adoptions page, please directly contact the owner using the information provided. Please DO NOT submit a FAAS adoption application.
If a lister requests money in exchange for a pet, please notify FAAS immediately at djohnson@alamedaanimalshelter.org or call (510) 337-8566.
IMPORTANT: FAAS does not evaluate the pets listed on the FAAS Private Adoptions page. Descriptions and photographs are provided by the owner of the pet. FAAS makes no claims as to the health or temperament of these pets and cannot be held liable for any outcomes or damages resulting from a private adoption
